manning park

i had an amazing weekend!
getting ready for it i felt a bit apprehensive about being there with all those young kids ( 21-25 year old's are the young kids i'm talking about??? how have things changed so much for me?).
last time i attended a formal i felt so out of place that i was afraid it will be more of the same.
but no.
it was so fun!
on the bus there (we left at 10am) people started drinking already!
gross!
we got there had lunch had a little nap and went tubing.
my first time.
there were some girls that were wearing flats and jeans... these canadians are crazy!
thank goodness i borrowed some snow pants and boots because i wouldn't have lasted a minute after getting soaked in the snow.
it was super fun. i hadn't laughed so hard in a while!
we took some videos of ourselves going down the tracks... and they make me laugh all over again.

the cabin was so nice too.
they had a swimming pool, sauna and hot tub, but even though we brought our swimming suits we didn't go.
i mean... i imagined that to be like the bachelor pad... and i wasn't going there!
we loved it so much we want to go again with the whole clan.
that happens all the time.
we find something fun and we want to do it with our kids.
they would love it!
the dinner was super nice.
i loved the food.
after that, we had the whole cabin to ourselves because everyone gathered in a chalet to drink and party.
they had given us the "parent room"... well, i think we'd earned it :D so we enjoyed some privacy, anyway.
until our roommates came at around 3'30 all drunk and with the intention to continue the party, so evan had to get out and kick everyone out and send them to bed.
they all respect evan and look up to him.
i really enjoy all the guys from the fraternity. they are good kids. and they all made a point of helping me feel comfortable there, chatted with me, made me feel a part of the group... they were great. and to my surprise many complimented my look (again you can be attractive and modest at the same time).i mean... i am sure someone must have been wondering why i had an undershirt and leggings underneath my dress.
i was the odd one that wasn't showing any skin.
but i feel good about it.
one can still rock it without looking like a stripper!! :D

anyway, all went way too fast.
of course the kids didn't want to come back home.
and tracy said they were really good.
which makes me really happy.
i missed them...
but there is no price to coming home to silence.
we were reminded very quickly what it is like to have three kidlets around!!
you gotta love that!

well laura, i was wearing leggins underneath plus an undershirt so that's what they saw was covering me :D
