Mommy's Joy

Another picture of my beautiful Evan Mikel. He is just too cute.
He is really good at crawling now and he follows me around the house. Now he's even started to climb on my legs and stands up. He is so strong and he is so smart. I really love watching him discovering new things, new textures, new sounds...
I've also started to give him some solid food, since he is over 6 months. Mashed bananas... he loves them! but it is not the first food he's had. A few days ago Carmen was eating a donut and she was kind enough to give him a piece when nobody was watching. So I get my finger in his mouth, and I find a ball of donut stuck on the roof of his mouth that was making him gag... poor thing.

Before And After

So... I know it has been a while, but that happens when you are a happy busy mom, OK??The latest??... we went to Vancouver for the SWITCHFOOT concert and it was great. Lots of people, lots of pushing and squeezing... I mean, I've been very close to my hubby, but I don't think that you can get closer to anybody than at a concert. After a couple hours I couldn't stand it anymore... being so close to so many people sweating got a bit too gross for me, so I left and went to the back to catch my breath... But in all, I loved my first concert with Evan.So the day after we stayed in Vancouver and we went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. Sarah ( Evan's sister) and Kyle (her husband) were with us. They like Japanese food, Kyle served his mission and Japan and then after they got married went to live there for a couple of years, I think, so they are trying to introduce me to good Japanese food...and I must admit, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I guess sushi will grow on me.

Evan Mikel and I got a new haircut on friday... I'm just trying to get rid of the black that is left on my hair and back to my natural tone, and Evan...well, he was just losing hair in the sides so the top was getting a bit too long. When people see such a cute little baby with that much hair start thinking that it is a girl, that's when it is time to call auntie Sarah, the hair stylist of the family. And this is how beautiful we were before and after!!!

HaPPy VaLenTiNe'S DaY !!!

Well, well, well... I feel the love!!!
My husband had been saying lately how much he hates this day... he doesn't like how it is such a commercial occasion, that just stores gain from it, blah, blah, blah... so I had little hope that it would be any special for us. Plus, instead of just spending the evening with me, he accepted to go ref in a hockey game of the league he plays in.
So I had been telling people how disappointed I was, I had been complaining at my hubby's loss of romanticism in just three years..etc. I had even been thinking I wouldn't do anything for him, cause he didn't deserve it. Good thing I decided to be the "good one" and prepared something special for him, because, to my surprise, he got home with a lot of presents and lots of chocolate!!! Nothing better than jewelery and chocolate!
Evan is that way, you know... He gets me every time!!!
So I have some repenting to do... I can't complain... He LoVeS Me!!! And I love him too.
He has also got some tickets to go see "SWITCHFOOT" in concert in Vancouver for next monday. I am so excited!!
This day didn't turn out to be as bad as I thought.
I hope you also have a very good LOVER'S DAY!!

MeSsY CaRmeN!

This is Carmen's
technique eating a toast: forget about the bread... the jelly is the best part, so try to lick as much as you can.
Too bad it gets mostly all over her face... SHE IS SO CUTE!

Canadian Idol

Maybe you didn't know this, but Evan and I showed up for the Canadian Idol auditions last year in Vancouver. We got up at 4, took the 6'30 ferry, got there around 8, waited at least 3 hours in line in the freezing cold to get a number and about 4'30 pm they put us in a group of 5, took us to this little tiny room where a producer and a helper were waiting for us. I didn't do it very well... but I thought that they would let Evan go to the next round, but no! It sucked... Anyway, Evan tried out again this last saturday. He was better prepared this time. He had a better song, but still didn't make it through. It's too bad, because He has a really nice voice. I guess he would have to go about it in a different way. His band " The Great Conspiracy" has had a couple gigs here and there, but it seems that they will start playing in more places now.
Right after we got married we got some recording studio equipment and Evan has done a lot of production work. I have even done some songs , piano and voice, that sound pretty good. So even though canadian Idol doesn't want us in their show, we'll continue to make music.
