It's almost been two weeks since school finished.
Carmen and Evan both did amazing.
I thought that Carmen would get very good grades, but what I wasn't prepared for was for Evan to get "Exceeding Expectations"!! He is doing so great, and I am so happy!
We got to do fun things with daddy before he left.
It really sucks that during the funnest time of the year he's gone.
But since he was home all may and june he got the time to play with the kids after school everyday. We got to go to Kelowna, which was super fun!. We got to go to the pool, we dined out ( going to restaurants is always so fun for my kids), we had a bunch of movie nights...
It was fun!
But now he's gone.
And we miss him.
It didn't hit me until the day he left and I saw him in the taxi, driving away.
I got inside and I cried.
I have to do it all over again.
I'm on my own, again.
The kids saw me crying and they hugged me. Evan said he also cried the night before, when daddy put him to bed. Carmen said she was sad too. And we all hugged.
They are amazing to me.
In these two weeks, they randomly come to me and say they miss "papa".
And they do.
We all do.
Like when we got donuts the other day and they wanted to keep one for when daddy got home.
Or when they want to go skating, but only with daddy because he's the one that taught them.
Or when I got Isabel a bike and I told her I had a surprise for her, and bless her heart, she said: "papa!!???!!" all excited, she thought daddy was here.
Or when I was watching tv and there''s a husband and wife and Isabel asks me if I miss daddy, and asks me I am sad he's not here.
So we called him. And we talked to him. What a blessing!
We get to see him in skype, and we get to talk on the phone.
Good thing we have that!
And good thing it is starting to feel like summer!
Good weather is all I need.
Then I can escape to water parks, to the beach with the kids ALL day.
That way feels like days go faster.
That way the kids are having fun.
That way things are easier on me.
