OUR STORY

It all started when I was called to serve a mission in England.
Two weeks into it I met who is now my husband, then, elder Clarke. Though you are not supposed to have these kind of thoughts, I must say that when I saw him, I thought: "Man, at least there is one hot elder on my mission".
Now, you may think that we hit it off really good from then on, but no! Actually, it was the opposite... I couldn't stand him! Tension between us seemed to increase every time we met.
Luckily it all changed.
He came to serve in Leeds 2, where I was, 4-5 months after and there it was where I realized what a terrific missionary he was. After one transfer, he became my district leader ( something he likes to mention). I loved serving around him. We seemed to have the same enthusiasm about the work, the same understanding of our callings... we rejoiced in our labor, we rejoiced in the fruits of that labor. We found great success in that area and it was great to have somebody like him around who I could share my joy with.
Anyway, I never allowed myself to think more of our excellent relationship. We were two missionaries that happened to be living such great experiences at the same time and were blessed to see miracles together...
But it got very obvious that we clicked in a more personal way... I mean, it is very weird when your investigator or some members start saying that we should date 'cuz we would make such a nice couple.
So, feeling so bad about finding I had feelings for this elder, I talked to my loving president and I left the area.
Next time I saw Evan I was about to go home and I was so concern about people seeing us together that we didn't talk much.
By that time I had little hope that anything could come out of this, but when I got home I had a bunch of letters for me to read from elder Clarke!!!! Letters and tapes! I was so excited.
I replied each one of them in a matter of days and through our correspondence our friendship grew.
I decided to go visit him in Canada for the Christmas holidays but I guess he couldn't wait that much because 10 days after he got home from his mission he came to Spain. His second day there, while we were walking at the Temple grounds, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him.
That was on November 6th, we got married January 17th 2004. We just had our third anniversary and I can say that we love each other more than our first day together.
