In the last 3 months we've had 9 baptisms. 5 women were welcomed into our Relief Society!
It was such a miracle!
We set the goal as sisters to pray for 5 sisters, 4 of them were baptized, and one more was reactivated.
Isn't it incredible?? When united in faith, the power of Relief Society sisters has no limit!
I am so happy!
Last Sunday we had two baptisms in our ward.
A mother and son.
The husband got baptized a few weekes ago and he has now the Aaronic Priesthood so he was able to baptize them.
They have another daughter that will turn 8 in July and will be baptized then.
They asked me to speak at their baptism. On the topic of baptism.
I felt honored.
The spirit was felt bearing testimony if the truth.
I based it on this scripture:
Mosiah 27:25-26
"And the Lord said unto me: Marvel not that all mankind, yea, men and women, all nations, kindreds, tongues and people, must be born again; yea, born of God, changed from their carnal and fallen state, to a state of righteousness, being redeemed of God, becoming his sons and daughters;
And thus they become new creatures; and unless they do this, they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God."
A new creature.
I have work to do. We have work to do.
When I sat down, Carmen hugged me and said she had looved my talk and that she couldn't wait for her baptism. :D
Me neither!!
In fact, it is all I think about!
She is so excited my parents are coming, everytime we talk to them she reminds them that they are coming to her baptism, so they don't forget.
We talk a lot about it. We talk about the covenant. We talk about her testimony. It is an amazing time!
I am loving it so much!! I can't imagine what it would be like to prepare her to enter the temple, to go on a mission, to get sealed!!
I really can't imagine. It brings tears to my eyes.
She is such a special little girl, She's such an inspiration to me, to be more humble, to be better!
A few Sundays ago, we had Ward Conference.
Bro. Sloan, from the stake presidency spoke to the sisters in RS.
He talked about Enos.
When he was in the forest, and he started thinking about the teachings of his father.
His father Jacob, taught him about eternal life, and "the joy of the saints".
He asked us to think of what the joy of the saints was.
What do you think??
So many things brings me joy...
At the top of that list is the Atonement. Without it I would be miserable!
But he mentioned something that really hit me.
3 John 1:4
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth".
It is amazing to me the love between parents and children.
I can see the love between Jacob and Enos.
I believe that is one of the reasons why Enos had that wrestle with the Lord, looking for the forgiveness of his sins.
I have so much respect for my parents, and I know I've caused them pain, and I am so sorry.
I've tried really hard to do things that will make them proud.
I have the same desire as President Packer: before I hear a "Well done" from my Father in Heaven, I hope to hear it from my own dad.
I am also trying really hard to be the best parent for my children and I fail in so many aspects, but I hope I never fail in teaching them what's most important: the way to Eternal Life....
and baptism is the gate!
can you see why I am so excited now??!!??!
