... BLeSseD FRiDaY !!!...

i'm happy it is friday, and the fact that is long weekend makes it even more exciting! though Evan works on saturday, so that sucks :(
but monday i'm spending the day in vancouver doing some good shopping in preparations to our trip to Spain!!! 13 days and counting! i'm super excited!
so fridays are special because of DATE NIGHT. evan and i get to have some time alone, going out for dinner and doing something special... without children, that's the best part. so normally i spend the morning doing some cleaning and then is all me... from hair, to pedicure, manicure if necessary, make up, out fit... is the only day of the week where i take good 3 hours on looking good...sundays too. not 3 hours but one.... who knows me knows that i didn't look my best at church back home. didn't care at all actually. maybe if there was a cute elder i wanted to impress i'd look a bit better ;D... but normally i would barely do my hair and nothing to little make up....but now, you'd be impressed, i think i always look really good for church. and i think is because my hubby always look so good, i have to match up to him!
anyway...i took some pictures of my fabulous babes today...they look good, don't they? even Carmen with her crazy hair...she is so adorable! and Evan...i don;t have words...super cute! so there...
i might take some pictures of me today...for those who are waiting to see more! :D

My Accent: love it or hate it...

i read a friend's blog that got me thinking... it was about the english pronunciations and different accents. and of course having one myself i found it very interesting.
first of all.... i must say that i hate my accent...most of all i hate that i'll never get rid of it. but in the other hand i love anybody else's accent...weird, i know. i love it especially if it is british, of course, cuz it reminds me of my mission, followed by any african, because again of all the people i taught on my mission.
so, after giving up on any hopes for losing my accent, what i really care about it is being understood the best possible... and it is very hard. it always seems harder to speak in english after speaking in spanish... the more i talk in spanish the harder the accent comes out... and the grammar mistakes! it takes me a while to change the mode. evan says that my accent gets stronger when i'm nervous... great! that's just great...
anyway...i 'm not complaining about my english, i just want to speak it better, the best i can...so i think i should put some effort into my desires. since i hardly read ever....very bad i know, i miss it really!... i've decided to start reading...and not the scriptures only or any other church related texts that i've been reading, but books...other kind of books. and since evan is such a hungry reader, he finishes books in a couple of days...and loves Harry Potter's books, i've started the first book. and i'm planning on reading the whole series. it seems like forever since i read a book that wasn't from the church or on parenting.. so i'm excited. any suggestions on what to read next??? i'm open to anything good... so favorite books anybody???

I HATE bugs...yes HATE with capital letters

man!! look at it ( and try not to look at my hairy legs) ...my ankle is so swollen... a mosquito or another kind of stupid creature bite me yesterday at the park and now it hurts me even to walk! i HATE it... it makes me so mad... i'm going to create a world where there will be no bugs...anybody join me??

* B-Day Boy *

so we finally had the b-day party... i was less stressed this time... something about being outside made it easier on me.
we prepared a treasure hunt for the kids... Evan was very good with the kids....they had fun.

then we had the cake... believe it or not, it was the first cake i've ever done. i was really worried, i said all the prayers that t i know while baking....and it turned out good!
i would have liked to have a clean child to take pictures of on his b-day... but that's what i got... a filthy little being!

so, we got home....and straight to the bath...literally. i had not even got upstairs yet when evan had him naked for me to get him in the bath already.

evan got him dressed and gave him a bottle and he fell asleep on his arms.
in the mean time, i was finishing carmen up. i got her pj's on and she kept saying she was tired, we said a little prayer together and i held her in my arms, she asked me to sing a song for her, so while singing and rocking her, she feel asleep too...too cute!!

it was a good day... carmen was so excited about the whole b-day party thing. i can't wait for her b-day. she will have so much fun.

A Whole Week Gone!!???

Man... where does time go? I guess time flies when you are having fun :D...
It was another usual week: Gym, piano class, band practice and soccer for Evan, ASL class for me... But we also have had some unusual events...Tania came over to visit with her fiancee Eric. That was nice. She is very happy and he is very nice... so I'm excited for both my sister's weddings!
On thursday I helped in the kitchen for the missionaries Zone Conference... so many memories from my own mission. It was really nice. President and Sister Middleton always make me feel so special to them and I love them very much. I know they are excellent people.
Then Friday was my baby Evan's first B-day
(isn't he gorgeous!!???)

and auntie Tania came over again. We were having a party on saturday but due to rain it's been postpone which was very convenient because we went to Vancouver to the Playland in the PNE ( Pacific National Exhibition) . We had so much fun...it is like "el parque de atracciones" de Madrid ( but massive! not necessarily better but way bigger). I was all day super concerned about loosing Carmen among all that many people. She had so much fun though.

It had been too long since I had gone on those kind of rides. I lost my voice from yelling my heart out! Evan found it so funny, but I was terrified! And I got super cool pens for manicures... you know, the kind to make designs in your nails. I'm super excited to use them.
We were so tired by the time we got home. Good thing our Church doesn't start untill one pm.
After Church we had Ed and Mel ( the deaf couple) over for dinner. They are so nice. He is working for Evan's company now, so he is learning ASL too. But he is already super good at finger spelling. It was such a nice evening... and the best thing was that I could give my voice a rest ;D.

Clarke's Family Reunion

So this last week we had the Clarke's family reunion. We had it at a resort some member of the church owns...actually Irene, is Elder Schar's uncle ( remember the guy??? from Switzerland?? super cute...remember?). Anyway, I only stayed there for a night, and thank goodness it was just a night cuz it was a horrible night. It is the first and the last time I go camping with kids...I guess kids of 2 and one years old. It was HORRIBLE! with capital letters! I already hated camping to begin with...there is something about nature creatures in the form of bugs, not having showers and toilets and a BED, a comfy, warm bed that is not appealing to me for some reason... Now add to that children...filthy children, always looking that they are save, that they are not putting gross things they found on the ground in their mouths, needing to warm up bottles in the middle of the night...crying all night cuz it is freezing cold, not wanting to go to sleep because it is light out so it is time to wake up even thought I haven't been able to sleep for more than 2 hours straight... ( a little bit of consideration is hard to ask of a 2 year old)... in other words....HORRIBLE experience.
So I have some options...never go camping again, period, or never going camping with kids. I'm happy with the first myself, but my husband likes it so I see I'll have to do it at some point.
Besides that, I really enjoyed what I enjoyed from the reunion. Family home evening was super good. I have a great respect for Evan's parents and the way they've raised 12 kids....yes, 12 kids. Ever since Evan knew how to read, he's always done family scripture reading. Every morning of his life! It takes a great effort to do it just Evan and I, I can't imagine with 12 kids. But...they've done it and I admire them for that. It was very special to be there. Seeing them with most of their children, all together. I hoped for my family to be gathered together like that one day. We also had a talent show. The best for me was my little Carmen, as cute as usual. They had some of the little ones singing "Twinkle, twinkle little star" and Carmen was the lead voice...the best part was that at the end, everybody clapping and all the girls left the "stage" but Carmen stayed to bow saying " THANK YOU, THANK YOU"...super cute. Evan sang "Wasted", one of the songs I inspired, cute, eh? And with some pushing from Evan I sang the only song I've written myself with which I'm not very comfortable but I had to sang it, and people seemed to like it. We also had a campfire and sang songs. Evan had to teach me some before hand so I wouldn't feel left out, and enjoyed some meals with the fam.
All and all was good. Not because I liked where I was but because I liked who I was with....and I guess that's what matters...
